چکیده
INTRODUCTION: Free functioning muscle transfers (FFMTs), nerve grafting and nerve transfers have led to improved functional outcomes in brachial plexus injury (BPI) patients. Reports have shown that 39% of FFMTs and 26% of nerve transfers for elbow flexion achieve ≥ M4 elbow flexion strength.1 However, there remains a substantial number of patients with less favorable functional outcomes that need to be addressed further.

Malawian prosthetic and orthotic users' mobility and satisfaction with their lower limb assistive device.
OBJECTIVE To investigate patients' mobility and satisfaction with their lower limb prosthetic or orthotic device and related service delivery in Malawi and to compare groups of patients regarding type and level of device and demographics. METHODS Questionnaires were used to collect self-report data from 83 patients. RESULTS Ninety percent of prostheses or orthoses were in use by patients, b...
متن کاملMyoelectric control of prosthetic hands: state-of-the-art review
Myoelectric signals (MES) have been used in various applications, in particular, for identification of user intention to potentially control assistive devices for amputees, orthotic devices, and exoskeleton in order to augment capability of the user. MES are also used to estimate force and, hence, torque to actuate the assistive device. The application of MES is not limited to assistive devices...

The design and control of an active ankle‐foot rehabilitation orthotic system that was designed as a wearable and portable rehabilitation and walking assistive tool is presented. This device can measure and assist the six degree of freedoms (DOFs) movement of the human ankle joint by using a Stewart platform mechanism, which can adapt to the displacement of the r...
